Workshops and Seminars for Professional Development, aimed at Conservators, Museum and Gallery Staff, Artists and Craftspeople.

  • With  over 20 years of experience running workshops and seminars for museum and gallery staff, as well as freelancers working in conservation and visual arts, I can offer tailor made practical courses for your staff, or one-to-one sessions designed to meet your specific needs.

Example Topics:

  • Understanding pigments used in Islamic manuscripts :   A full dayhandling and experiencinghistorical pigment processes, from sourcing raw materials to preparation and use,  with an authentic handling collection.
  • Making Shell Gold:  Two full days, during which  you will make a quantity of superfine gold or silver pigment to take away.
  • Preparing Mineral Pigments:  Two full days, focussing on processing raw mineral malachite into a quantity of superfine pigment to take away.

Gold and Pigment Workshops

BASIC WORKSHOP COSTS



    Group sessions (maximum number 12): UK: £400 per full day, plus travel and materials.

Overseas: £ 400 per full day, plus travel and materials. Flights, accommodation and extra preparation costs will be additional to the workshop charges. If venue hire is required, the charges will be additional to the workshops.  


    One-to-one, UK: £250 per day plus materials.

(Gold pigment making requires two days)

Additional costs for gold leaf and/or pigment materials.

50% deposit on booking
